I am a professor of Latin American & Caribbean literature and film at the University of Cincinnati.

My research and teaching focus on migration, race, gender, sexuality, geographical imagination, and political dissent within Latin American and Caribbean literature, cinema, and popular culture. I also explore critical discourse analysis, digital humanities, and textual analysis, with a particular interest in the role of large language models (LLMs) in humanities research and the ethical considerations surrounding AI in this field.
